The Great Gift Exchange!

The Christmas season is here and it is known as a season of giving. Although we know December is not the accurate time of Christ Jesus birth, it is an excellent time to remember and celebrate God’s gift of grace. During the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, many people enjoy the welcoming of a more relaxed work schedule, spending time with loved ones fixing holiday recipes replaying joyful memories as we enjoy each other’s presence. Searching for the perfect tree with beautiful ornaments while shopping for the perfect gift to express your love and appreciation.

Many centuries ago we received the gift of a lifetime. The gift of God’s grace manifested in a babe found in a meager. The word of God gifts to us in John 3:16:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

This season desire to exchange a gift with God that only you have the ability to give. The gift of your belief in His everlasting word above everything and every one else’s word. It is your belief in God that will help you to enjoy the gift of God’s grace. God’s grace is endless and immeasurable. There is no depths or heights to God’s grace. However, there is a limitation to receiving God’s grace. This limitation is unbelief. The word of God tells us in Matthew 14:58 “Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their “unbelief”. The “He” the scripture is referring to is “Jesus” and Jesus is God’s grace. The gospel of grace is the gospel of Jesus, our eternal gift.

God sent His grace to save a world that was subjected to death and hell because of the authority that was given to Satan through Adam and Eve. Grace came in the person of Jesus to redeem us not only from death but to give us back our authority and dominion that God originally purposed for us to have in Genesis 1:26 which says “…Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God gifted his begotten Son to us to give man and woman back our dominion (which means authority) over everything including life issues that flow out of a heart of darkness because of the absence of God’s grace. Our dominion is in allowing our soul to be transformed into the image and likeness of the Holy Trinity. We are told in John 1:14 that Jesus is full of grace and truth.

You may ask yourself “how do I gift my belief to God? Let me answer this for you. You gift your belief to God through submitting your freewill to God’s will. Jesus, who is Grace told his disciples in John 6:38 “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” Jesus freely gave His “free” will and gifted it back to God through His belief in God’s will. You may think that it was easy for Jesus to do so because He is God. Please keep in mind, Jesus was also flesh which means He had a soul. Our soul, which is our flesh has its own will apart from God.

I want to remind you that although we are not the begotten Son of God, we were created to be in the image and likeness of God as revealed in Genesis 1:26. This means our soul/flesh is also created to be in the image and likeness of God’s word. We also were created to be the word in the flesh full of grace and truth. After all, God gave the gift of grace to live inside of us so this gift of grace could manifest in our soul. Our soul is our decision maker. Our soul is how we choose life or death, blessings or curses. Our soul is our belief and our belief is our work. The word of God tells us in James 2:17 that faith without works is dead. Faith is the revelation of God grace and the work is our belief in God’s grace. Therefore God’s revelation of Grace is dead in us without our belief which resides in our soul to manifest the grace in us out into the earth. The Lord said the earth is His and the fullness thereof.

You may say I believe in God but I do not believe in him to help me with what is hurting, frustrating, or causing me great pain and grief in my life.  I encourage you to pray to God from a sincere heart of repentance for not believing that He has the solution to all your life issues and ask Him to help your unbelief. In Mark 9:24 the father who needed his little boy healed cried out to Jesus and said “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief.” and Jesus rebuked the unclean deaf and dumb spirit that was in the boy and told that spirit to come out of him and enter him no more.” God has the power to remove your unbelief if you are willing to exchange His gift of grace for the gift of your freewill rooted in your belief.
