Without Jesus we are not in right position, which is our standing with God. Jesus is our wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption to the Creator God. He is the way for us to be restored to the Creator God! The word of God tells us in 1 Corinthians 1:30, “But of Him (God) you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption”
Our strength is found in the excellence of God’s wisdom, who is Jesus. The excellence of God’s wisdom provides instruction, knowledge, understanding and power to live a productive and fulfilling life on earth. Proverbs 8 tells us whoever find the wisdom of God obtains favor from the Lord, but those who sin against the wisdom of God loves death. It further tells us the counsel is the Lord’s and sound wisdom; He is understanding and has strength. Believing the wisdom of God elevates you in His image and likeness that He originally created you in (see Genesis 1:26-28).
The well-known gospel singer, Fred Hammond’s classic song “Jesus Be A Fence” talks about being a strong tower of protection along the way of life here on earth. Jesus is able to protect us through our belief in Him. The word of God tells us in Romans 10:1-13:
Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israelis that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.” 6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’”(that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’”(that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”(that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Proverbs 14:12 and Proverbs 16:25 tells us, ” There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” The way of death is broad and ends in destruction as revealed in Matthew 7:13 which states, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Matthew 7:14 continues to tell us, “Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” Jesus is the narrow gate and the way that leads to eternal life. The word of God tells us in John 14:6 , “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” This tells me Jesus is the only way to God The Father. These scriptures let us know when you believe Jesus in your heart, it makes you righteous with God. When we confess Jesus is the way to God we are able to be saved.
The word of God tells us in John 6:46, “Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. John 1:18 tells us,” No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.” The Creator God claims Jesus in the word of God found in Matthew 17:5 which says, “While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” Within a prophecy of Jesus titled “The Messiah Reign, The Psalm of David found in Psalms 110:1 prophesied of Jesus and tells us, “The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” Jesus is the only way to God’s kingdom and God ‘s kingdom is in heaven. When we pursue Jesus, He shows us the way, truth and life of heaven on earth. Remember, the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 when Jesus prayed, Let your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. This is only possible for people to experience by having a relationship with Jesus. The more time you spend with Jesus, the more you get to know Him and walk as he walked in the earth. The word of God tells us let this mind be in you that is in Christ Jesus.
Just because people may not understand the way of God who is Jesus, does not mean He is not the only way. My advice for the people in our society, believers and unbelievers alike is rooted in the following scriptures found in the word of God:
Proverbs 4:7, “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding;
Proverbs 9:10 which says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Proverbs 1:7, ” The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
If you believe Christ is the only way, it is important that you are aware who you choose to fellowship with in your inner circle consisting of friends, family, business partners, potential spouses as well as organizations you allow yourself to be in agreement with. Your inner circle is your sphere of influence and influence is very powerful. Given time and opportunity the person with the strongest belief will be able to sway the person with the weakest belief for better or worse. This is the spiritual war mentioned in 2 Corinthians 10:1-6 and Ephesians 6:1-19. The word of God tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? A yoke is a tie that puts you in the position of agreement with the purpose to attach you to blessings or curses, life or death, so I pray that you choose life. The Lord told Solomon in 1 Kings 11:1-13 not to marry foreign women because they would turn His heart from the Lord to foreign God’s which represent foreign beliefs and foreign ways that are different from God’s way. Jesus tells His disciples including us in:
Luke 24:47, “and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations beginning at Jerusalem.” He tells His disciples and us again in
Mark 16:15-16 to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.
As a believer, this is the great commission which is our (co) mission with Christ. Expose the lie of many ways and believe the truth so you can rest in the excellence of God’s wisdom found in Jesus the only way to God. As a believer in Christ, it is important for us to understand this foundational truth and know how to share this truth effectively with people who do not believe or have a lack of understanding. The enemy does not want anyone to believe Jesus is the only way to the Creator God so he comes to steal your belief in Jesus to destroy the power of your testimony.
