Know Who Walks With You

Life can seem like it has never-ending trials. Once you overcome one challenge, it may seem like another challenge is around the corner. Our modern-day life challenges is what the bible called trials and tribulations. How did believers handle their trials and tribulations back in biblical days? How are we suppose to handle life challenges, situations, setbacks and issues today? Hebrews 13:8 tells us Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Therefore, we serve the great and mighty God they served back in the bible. This same mighty God always delivers His people and causes them to win in life.

During Jesus time on earth, He encountered trials and tribulations that He was always able to overcome because He walked with God. As Jesus walked with God, He only did what God revealed to Him to do (John 5:19-20). This was how He was able to overcome every trial and tribulation because He only did what He spiritually discern the Father do. Jesus seeing the Father was Him having the power to spiritually discern the Father’s will because He stayed in communication with the Father. During the times, Jesus needed to be strengthened in His relationship with the Father, He always went away to be alone with the Father. In Jesus alone time with the Father, He gave the Father His concerns and He waited and meditated on the Father’s response. Jesus did not leave the Father’s presence until He was at peace. Having God’s peace enables us to continue our walk by faith until our faith makes us whole (Mark 5:25-34).

Just like God’s peace gave Jesus rest, God’s peace will give us rest. We enter God peace when we decide to give Him our cares in exchange for Him giving us His living and powerful word that will give us peace. When we decide to hold on to our cares, we are not able to receive His gift of rest. When we let go of our cares by seeking His kingdom and righteousness first, He gives us His peace so we can rest as we walk by faith. The rest He gives enables us to let go of our worries because we can rest in what He reveals to us. It is time, we realize that He loves us and already gave His only begotten Son, so we would not perish, but have everlasting life, which is our peace. God’s presence in our life is our everlasting life and therefore our rest. We do not have to wait until we leave this lifetime to experience everlasting life. We can experience every lasting life now through being in relationship and fellowship with our Amazing Grace who is God’s Holy Spirit and the revealer of all truth (John 16:13-16).

The Holy Spirit directs our path towards the truth that sets us free from whatever is trying to hold us captive. Whether it be sickness, disease, relationship issues, finances or any other life challenge, the Holy Spirit knows the way to supply our need according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).  As we walk with the Holy Spirit, we are simultaneously walking in the richness of God’s glory full of grace and truth. Jesus seats on the right hand of the Father, interceding on our behalf ensuring we win this spiritual war that is being fought in the mind (2 Corinthians 10:1-6). Every life challenge is a spiritual battle that comes to test our faith because it comes to test our God. However, when we count it all joy by resting in the presence of God’s word, our spirit, soul and body are strengthened in His presence. He causes us to prosper in our life by giving us favorable results, as we overcome and have no lack of His wisdom or understanding (2 Corinthians 2:14).

When problems come our way, we can live in the secret place of the Most High under the protection of the Almighty God (Psalms 91:1-2). We have to trust His presence to protect us as He delivers us better than He found us. Today our secret place is meditating on God’s living and powerful word. As we cast our cares on Him through prayer; trust that He will answer our prayers. He will cause us to not only endure but overcome and win because He is our victory (Psalms 23). Just like God’s peace gave Jesus strength to continue His walk by faith even to the cross; we can be at peace on our walk of faith because Jesus walks with us and as He resurrected in full power, so will we (1 John 4:17). His Holy Spirit is guiding us to the truth that will set us free.

The classic Mary Mary single, “I’m Walking” reminds us that we do not walk alone in life when we allow Jesus to walk with us. When we commit our walk to the Lord, He will establish our thoughts in His way and lead us to our favorable destination (Proverbs 16:3).
