What good is it for a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul (Mark 8:36)? The world teaches us the pride of life and how to pursue things before we pursue God that separates us from the image and likeness of His kingdom of power, love and soundness of mind. The word of God reveals in Matthew 6:33, which says “Seek first His kingdom and righteousness and all these things will be added to you. God desires that we have an abundant and everlasting life. He knows this is only possible when we do life His way. He knows this is only possible when we walk by faith.
Walking by faith means manifesting God’s image and likeness in the earth through our thoughts, words, emotions and actions. This is the solid foundation that not only holds us together as an individual but holds our family together, holds our community together, holds our society together and therefore holds our nation and world together in the image and likeness of His power, love and soundness of mind. Our lives and all God’s creation is purposed to reflect the kingdom of heaven. This is why Jesus prayed let your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. God’s kingdom comes to earth through us when we walk by faith in Gods thoughts and ways. The word of God tells us, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). God’s word reveals how He thinks, desires, believes and responds.
There are two ways to be successful; man’s way and God’s way. When we allow God to make us successful, He prepares our spirit and character to handle that success. He prepares our mind, spirit, soul and body to reflect His image and likeness of love which is rooted in the fruits of His Holy Spirit. Success in life comes at a cost. The cost is surrendering to the blessing or surrendering to the curse. The cost is surrendering to life or surrendering to death. The cost is entering the presence of the kingdom of God or entering the presence of the kingdom of satan.
God desires for us to be successful, but that success will cost us our own thoughts, will, desires and beliefs that are not in agreement with God because this is the image and likeness that separates us from God. Indeed this image and likeness that separates us from God is the image and likeness of our own understanding which is controlled by the prince of fear, darkness, curses, spiritual death and everything that is not made in the image and likeness of God.
Satan has a way to make you successful, but it will cost you losing the gift of eternal life. The gift of being intimate with God’s thoughts and ways. The gift of experiencing an intimate relationship through fellowship with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Indeed Satan offered Jesus the kingdoms of this world if Jesus would fall down and worship Satan. If Jesus would deny the very image and likeness of God who created Him. Jesus told Satan He serves God alone and only Him would He serve.
How many times throughout a day does the enemy of our soul offer us the same proposition of success not revealing the cost of that success? The cost is being eternally separated from God for immediate and temporary gratification of our fleshly desires. The word of God tells us there is no profit in the flesh as well as no flesh will glory in God’s presence. The very suggestion Satan sends our way is rooted in His thoughts and ways that is the fruit of His Spirit of Error, which is the fruit of the pride of life that is worldly glorification and success.
This is the fruit that is good enough to make mankind wise with worldly wisdom that empowers the pride of life, lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes. This is the fruit that empowers people to walk by sight and not by faith. This is the fruit that manifest Satan’s image and likeness into the earth giving the appearance of good but ends in evil. So again I ask what good is it to gain the whole world and loose our soul? For the word of God tells us in Luke 9:24, “For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for Me will save it.”
When we seek God’s word for our lives, we are seeking God’s will for our life. As we seek God’s will He reveals the ways we must stop being conformed in (Romans 12:2). When we exercise our freedom of choice to choose God’s thoughts and ways, He will hear from heaven and heal the land of our mind, spirit, soul and body that will become evident in our life, relationships, health, ministry and business.
