Intimacy That Empowers Blessed Relationships

Pursuing an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, makes us sensitive to the presence of the Holy Spirit desires. The presence of the Holy Spirit in us is purposed to be God’s  righteous covering of our thoughts, feelings, desires and emotions so we can become more in tune with the voice of God.  The word of God says in John 10:27, ” My sheep hear my voice, I know them, and they follow me. The Lord’s sheep are believer’s in Christ who follow the voice of God in their thoughts, speech, desires, feelings and emotions. When we follow the voice of God we simultaneously kill the voice of the flesh that is communicated through the thoughts, feelings, desires, emotions and will of the flesh that manifest actions of disobedience. Disobedience makes us sensitive to the presence of satan’s spirit and hardened to the presence of the Holy Spirit in us. We kill the voice of the flesh through knowing the voice of the Holy Spirit located in our thoughts, feelings, desires, emotions and will of God that empower us to obey God. The more we obey God the better we know and follow the voice of God.

Before we can obey we must first prepare our whole person to hear the word of God through doing the spiritual work of seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness. The spiritual work of seeking God’s kingdom and righteousness consist of us meditating on God’s living and powerful word while we pray, read and do spirit led fasting. This prepares our whole person to hear the living and powerful voice of God who wants to direct our path in the way we should go.

Our journey of faith is a journey of submitting our free will willingly to the will of God because we have learned to trust God. Our will outside of God’s will is the will, identity, thoughts, desires and emotions that is the identity of a carnal mindset that is enmity to the mindset of Christ. Jesus said in John 7:17 that, ” if anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.”  Jesus also said in John 8:44, You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. Satan is the father of the carnal mindset that is enmity to the mindset of Christ.

The greatest commandment found in Luke 12:28 is to hear God and love Him with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. When we love God, we are able to hear God and we commit to obey Him. Jesus said in John 14:23, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to Him and make our home with him. The home that God makes with us is a spiritual home that resides in the mind of Christ where the Holy Spirit dwells and desires to become one in our thoughts, feelings, desires, emotions and will. Your strength is not only your physical body, but your spiritual body. We are destined to be the spiritual and physical body of Christ (1 Corinthians 15).

When we set time aside to pray, read God’s word and fast we go deeper into the presence of God’s thoughts, feelings, desires and understand His will for our life. This empowers us to obey God and experience the rewards of His presence in our life. Pursuing the heart of God is meant to be a lifestyle of submitting to Him by making the spiritual work of seeking Him our center of our lifestyle.  As we surrender all our heart, mind, soul and body to God through protecting the gates to our heart, we are awakened to the abundance of His loving presence ready to guide us into all truth so that we can be set free (John 8:32) .

As revealed in Isaiah 58, the God chosen fast is to loosen the bonds of wickedness over our thought life, undo heavy burdens of emotions, and break every yoke of desire and will that does not line up with the will of God.  The more time we set aside to be in the presence of God, He lets us know where He wants us to be positioned in the presence of people. Do not seek to be in the presence of people more than you seek to be in the presence of God. Only the presence of God satisfies your soul as His presence empowers you to be in loving relationships with people.
