Fight For Your Dreams

When we fight for our dreams the right way, we will be required to leave our comfort zone and what has become familiar. Fighting for our dreams requires us to detach from our own understanding and depend as well as commit on the wisdom and understanding of God (Proverbs 3:5-6). Anything we want or don’t want in life is going to require us to fight. Sometimes unknowingly we are fighting to stay the same by not allowing ourselves to change. When this occurs this is a fight of disobedience which is a fight of conforming to the world (Romans 12:2). Anything that God has for us requires us to transform more into His image and likeness by renewing our mind to become one mind in Christ. Anything that God has for us is going to require us to submit to the mind of Christ in us. If we consider ourselves as believers in Christ and we are apart of the body of Christ then the mind of Christ is how we win every battle in life. Genesis 1:26 reveals God when He said, let us create man in our image according to our likeness. This image and likeness of God is rooted in understanding the mind of Christ. However, just like it takes an effort to change, it will take an effort to stay the same. The effort to stay the same is a work of unbelief that is also known as a work of disobedience and sin towards the known will of God. Jesus covered our unknown sins on the cross. It is the sin that has been revealed that is not covered. This is where confession and true repentance is needed. True repentance is a change of action which commands our thoughts and emotions to change. This is why it is a fight because we are acting in obedience towards the will of God before we desire to submit. This action brings transformation which brings deliverance from the  fight of disobedience.

Although it appears to take less effort to stay the same, it actually comes at a price of sacrificing our dreams. 1 Samuel 15:22 reveals that obedience is better than sacrifice.   It takes a different kind of effort to fight for our dreams God’s way because it is a different kind of labor that is a different kind of work. This fight, effort and labor is a work of obedience to the revealed will of God for our life.

This effort, work, and labor is not in our own strength but the strength of Christ. The more we on purpose obey the will of God for our life we are getting strengthened in the mind of Christ that will have our thoughts desires and emotions to line up with the will of Christ. This is how we win the spiritual war (2 Corinthians 10:1-6). This fight, this effort this labor, this work involves surrendering our will that consist of our desires and emotions to come into agreement with God’s will through submission to the knowledge of Gods will that is the power to transform our will that consists of selfish desires and selfish emotions. When we obediently follow God’s will, we allow Him to get us to the place we desire to be in life by punishing the selfish desires and selfish emotions of disobedience in our life.

We all desire to be happy, fulfilled, successful and taken care of; but do we all desire to know GOD? Do we desire to understand the God in us which lives in the revelation of the Holy Spirit? Do we all desire to obey God and have His living and powerful word to transform us?

The Holy Spirit is the abundant life Christ came to give us so we can be in right relationship with God the Father. The Holy Spirit is the abundant life Christ came to give us so we can be in right relationship with people. The Holy Spirit is the abundant life Christ came to give us so we can be in right relationship with God’s creation. The Holy Spirit is the abundant life Christ came to give us that empowers us to live the life of our dreams. Life is all about relationships. Wrong and right relationships. That reminds of the saying, there is a right way and wrong way to love somebody. Did you know that if we are in wrong relationship with God by default we are in wrong relationship with people? Issues of life spring from the heart because we allow ourselves to be in wrong relationship with God that puts us in wrong relationship with people. Having and being strengthened in the mind of Christ is how we are in right relationship with God that empowers us to be in right relationship with people.

Ladies, I encourage you and I to fight for our dreams the right way, the effective way, the transformational way by making our relationship with Christ a priority. When we on purpose make time to spend in God’s presence, we are making our relationship with God our priority. When we on purpose obey God’s revealed will for our life we are fighting for our dreams the right way that allows God to add all things to us (Matthew 6:33).
